IIM Bangalore offers two in-person four-year undergraduate programmes starting from Academic Year 2026-27:

The total sanctioned intake is 80 students, with 40 seats allocated to each major. The small cohort size ensures personalized attention, close faculty interaction, and the opportunity to build strong peer networks.
How do these programmes differ from traditional business degrees?
It is essential to note from the outset that this is not a BBA programme. IIMB’s B.Sc. programmes follow a multi-disciplinary approach and provide a more rigorous quantitative and analytical foundation. Integrating economics and data science ensures graduates develop strong analytical capabilities alongside life competencies, making them uniquely positioned for leadership roles in data-driven organisations.

What are the eligibility criteria?
Age Requirements:
As of August 1, 2026, applicants must be 20 years or younger.
Academic Requirements:
- Successful completion of Class XII or equivalent from a recognised board.
- Mathematics as a subject in Class XII is mandatory for both majors. Students should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics in Class X.
What entrance tests are accepted?

Selection Process
How does the selection process work?
Apart from the aforementioned academic requirements, the selection process involves two stages:
- Entrance test scores will be used as the primary criterion for the interview short-listing process.
- Final selection is based on a composite score comprising 60% of the entrance test and 40% of the personal interview.
What is the format of the IIMB UG Admissions Test?
- Duration: 120 minutes

What does the personal interview assess?
The interview evaluates a candidate’s consistency in academic performance, clarity of motivation, communication skills, intellectual curiosity, extracurricular achievements, integrity, and authenticity.
How does programme allocation work?
Candidates can apply for one or both of the programmes and indicate their ranked preferences for both majors. Programme allocation is conducted in descending order of composite scores. Candidates are first considered for their top preference, with subsequent preferences considered in additional rounds. A candidate may hold an offer in one programme while remaining wait-listed for the other.

The curriculum will be delivered by IIM Bangalore faculty, visiting and adjunct faculty, other renowned academicians, and experienced industry practitioners, ensuring a rich and rigorous learning experience.
What is the curriculum structure?
The curriculum is designed as an integrated four-year programme combining core courses, major specialization, and minor subjects. Students will gain exposure to all three disciplines—Economics, Data Science, and Business Studies — alongside focusing on their chosen major and minors. The programme allows students to graduate with a degree after three years if they choose to exit.
When do students choose their minors?
The timeline for selecting minors will be communicated to students after joining the programme. The curriculum structure ensures adequate exposure to all disciplines before students make their final choices regarding minor(s).
What are the assessment methods?
Assessment follows a continuous evaluation model including quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations, and end-of-term examinations. The grading system maintains the rigorous academic standards expected at IIM Bangalore.

What are the career prospects for graduates?
