I am an applied mathematician working on partial differential equations, particularly hyperbolic and nonlocal conservation laws. I develop numerical algorithms with rigorous error and stability guarantees and study their applications in traffic and crowd dynamics and opinion dynamics. I also explore and teach quantum computing for business and technology.
I earned a B.A. (Hons.) in Mathematics from Lady Shri Ram College and an integrated M.Sc.–Ph.D. from the TIFR Centre for Applicable Mathematics, followed by postdoctoral research at INRIA Sophia Antipolis. Before joining IIMB, I was a faculty member in the Operations Management and Quantitative Techniques area at IIM Indore from 2015, most recently as Associate Professor. My visiting research positions include NTNU, Penn State, the University of Maryland, Universidad del Bío-Bío and the University of Würzburg. Outside research, I am a member of the NCERT team developing the new Class XI–XII mathematics textbooks, and I love making mathematics fun and approachable, helping learners of every age go from being scared of maths to loving it.
